How to Make Polyurethane Holds

The process for making Polyurethane holds is to:

  1. Cut a block of foam.
  2. Sketch out the hold
  3. Carve out the master hold shape
  4. Add attachment bolt and set screw holes to the master
  5. Create a mould box

Remove all dust from the pattern hold

Attach prototype to a plastic flat surface so that it will stay staionary and not float up when you pour the mould.  A glue gun works well.

Bix the mould around the hold Non-porrous material – laminated side of boxes- cardboard / timber:

Leave 1 to 2 to 2.5cms bewteen the pattern and the mould.  Check your silicon instructions.  Sil  try and leave as little extra space as silicon is the most expensive part of the process

Use hot glue to prevent the mould box from leaking
